Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone who recently subscribed — welcome, or ahlan wa sahlan to you!

I first launched ‘Eyb in 2020 when Substack was in its infancy. If you have been here since that time, I just want to say a massive thank you. I put as much time and effort into my Substack newsletters as I do with my journalism. Going forward, I am going to be producing a lot more exclusive content for ‘Eyb. If you enjoy my work, I hope you will consider becoming a paid subscriber.

I’ve made sure that the monthly subscription fee — £3.50 or $5 — is the same cost as a flat white or latte from a coffee shop. By gifting me with this coffee each month you will enable me to keep doing what I do — writing frankly on topics that legacy media won’t publish because they don’t deem what we hold as important the same; i.e. the current affairs that affect people from the global south and marginalised communities.

As a paid subscriber, you can expect a weekly post that will be one of the following:

• Exclusive excerpts from what I plan to compile as my memoir

• A monthly round-up of reading, listening and viewing recommendations
